I also love the runway. I mean it seems to be the opposite of what I should like because I am trying to sell my stuff on Etsy... but I think the fashion ideas are fantastic forms of art. The women are terrifyingly thin, but the designers and the fashion are what I find fascinating. An alarming trend for men's pants this year is the low crotch. THIS is frightening. So I felt I needed to blog about it and show my comparison visually. To me this isn't a nod to cultures everywhere... where it is hot and it makes sense to have flowy clothing. I mean come on. To me this screams HAMMER TIME. Obviously the "high fashion circa 2010" is on the right. And your boy there is on the left... I feel a song coming on.

Another thing I love (besides cartoons) is Apple. Not apples, although they are great. Apple as in Macs. And I most definitely have a love affair with my iPhone. I use it for everything. Pathetic? SURE. But guess what, I have given in to it. It isn't the texts, email and phone that make me wild for it. For sure the platform is genius and is beyond accessible to all. BUT, it is the apps store that puts me over the edge. I mean walk and text? Make a cupcake and email it to a friend? Nurse my son? Okay the last one may be exaggerating. BUT here is the cupcake my four year old emailed me while I posted this blog.

Okay so this is the "mascot" or character that will represent the restaurant. THINK: BC Eagles, or GEORGIA bulldogs ... sort of. I mean that is the concept. Anyhoo, here she is- feel free to comment!

WELL I baked those little dudes and they are fantastic. I am really surprised. Honestly, I am so excited that they have come out so well and I can't wait to make my other characters. FOR RIZZLE... the owl/bird idea has worked so well I am now working on penguins, and robots and perhaps the rocket ship. Working so small is going to be tricky, but I just love the idea of tiny and the style of flat characters. So, now it is convincing Max (my four year old) to come downstairs and work with clay with me. Time to let Diego find the emperor penguins on his own. Adios Diego.

Okay so after a few youtube videos, and finding a silicone rolling pin FIMO life changed for me. And, i have the little cute owls to prove it! I am thrilled with the results! We will see how the public accepts them!

Okay, so I am working so so so hard to come up with the perfect prototype for an owl, a bird etc with FIMO. Save for the 70 dollars I spent on the damn stuff and the 15-20 hours I have put into these guys for the past 2 days, I still haven't perfected it! This ain't easy. This was a fantastic event at Colorwheel Collection! What a fantastic evening despite the horrific rain! It was a great local event for Hilary and Hipbaby to share their work/art and have friends and neighbors come in and check it all out!

Hello! Wow amazing show today at Roslindale Open Studios! Met Kristen who is a dream from Hearts Happen (check it out heartshappen.com). AND Jen from JeniferDeryDesigns. She makes incredible jewelry. Anyway, that is what is so wonderful about Open Studios and art shows, I get to meet such wonderful and creative people. (Sounds super hokey but it is super true!)
